Bio:

Sorayama drew his first robot in 1978. After that he began to produce a series of female robotic figures called "Sexy Robots" anatomically correct in form, but appearing to have been fashioned of molten silver.

As a young artist in Japan, Sorayama was enthralled by the voluptuous images of females in film and advertising. The flirtatious and sexy women of "cheesecake" inspired and challenged him and his work began to be featured in ad campaigns for Sony and Levi's, among others. However, Sorayama took pin-up to a new level and made it his own.

In 2000 he designed first revolutionary intelligent pet robot "Sony AIBO" which is a permanent collection of MOMA and Smithsonian Museum of Institute.  In 2001 his sexy robot image was used for Aerosmith album cover "Just Push Play". In 2004 he worked with Disney and created "Future Mickey". Sorayama's works have been presented internationally including movies, Ads, and in various magazines. More than 20 books have been published about him and his art works.
