Growing up in the 1950s in the Midwest, the California car/paint scene was the pulse of what was happening and I was bitten by THE BUG. The little books were my connection and I treated them like they were the Holy Grail. Techniques and instruction were a rare comoditie and usually went to the grave of the artist that held them. We never even knew that computers and bulletin boards would someday exist.In the early days most artists obtained there instruction at ITM University[I TAUGHT MYSELF]and the skill process was a long tedious one. Fast forward to today. With modern technology and sharing artists, custom paint skills are well within reach to anyone that has THE BUG. I don't know for sure but it's been a good 30+ years that I've had paint under my fingernails. It been an an adventure,but one that only an artist would understand!
