With a little more than two weeks to go until the Airbrush Getaway (October 8-12, at the NEW Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel), there are still seats available. The Getaway is a terrific airbrush immersion program where you have the opportunity to learn from some of the World’s best talent. We have two hotel rooms left, and you must call Airbrush Action magazine (800-876-2472, 732-223-7878) to reserve them. Alternatively, because of the Trops great location on the strip, there are many other hotels in the area. Please call us to register for the workshops (there are 16 classes!; www.airbrushaction.com) or for more information on classes and hotel options. I look forward to seeing you at the largest and best hands-on airbrush workshop program in the Universe!
Leading up to the Airbrush Getaway, I’m like a thoroughbred at the starting gate; nervous, high-strung, heart racing, even a little scared. The production of a Getaway is an enormous undertaking with some tough logistics that include the shipping of 8,000 to 10, 000 pounds of equipment and supplies, the coordinating of C02 tanks, instructor travel, hotel rooms, set-up, break-down, the demands and committment of keeping the students happy (our #1 priority!), and much more. Ultimately, it’s about maintaining the balance and stability of a monster program. However, barring being with my two young daughters and Anh (the loves of my life), I’m rarely happier than when I’m in the midst of an Airbrush Getaway. It’s actually a form of euphoria for me because I’m in my element with a staff and a group that I love, which is in large part why I adopted the slogan, “Come as students, leave as friends, return as family.” There are 17 days until the Getaway. If you’d like to register, or require information on the World’s largest and best hands-on airbrush immersion program, you may call me personally at 732-233-7007. I look forward to seeing you there!

I read your “State of the Airbrush Union” piece. Nope, print is not dead. Not everything can be had on the internet, son. I’ve always understood the advertising in a magazine is what foots the bill, so you’ve never heard me complain about seeing a lot of ads. The info in Airbrush Action is almost always vital…and just plain fun to look at. The how-tos seem like they appeal to a broad spectrum of airbrush users…from beginners to pros of all kinds. Stay with what you do best. Keep it “visual.” The readers love the photos.
In the current issue, I loved the “Weathered Signage” article by John Hannukaine. FUN stuff!
The issues I receive from Airbrush Action are usually doled out to airbrush enthusiasts here on the island after I’ve read them (though some I keep). A few are beginners, others pros. One is an ex-con. So a lot of readers are seeing your stuff here on the rock, not just me. Sometimes these individuals end up at Airbrush Getaways. And some will end up at Getaways in the future. So, my friend, best of luck going forward. As we say in music, “Straight ahead & strive for tone.” Keep up the good work. Thanks for keeping us all up to speed.
Cheers, Michael Cacy
This gallery of spray gun cups was shot at the Anest-Iwata, Iwata-Medea booth at SEMA 2011. I really appreciate intricate paint work on small surfaces, and these examples deliver big time. Let me know if you like them. Also, please be sure to read yesterday’s Airbrush Getaway alert regarding the hotel registration deadline. By the way, you guys have been the best in following this site and being so supportive.
For those of you who are planning to attend the Getaway or are already registered, the hotel’s absolute cut-off date for reserving your room at the NEW Tropicana Las Vegas is September 14. Normally , the hotel would extend the deadline, but we were just informed that because they are overbooked, the cut-off must stand. So even if you haven’t registered yet, please book your hotel by Friday, 9/14- we can always make room for you at the workshops. You may also book at a nearby hotel, but it is always best to stay in the host property. See you there! If you require further information please call us at 732-223-7878.
