Bio:

Jerry Ott is a realist artist who began to paint from photographs while still in college in the middle to late 60s. While citing Pop Artists such as James Rosenquist, Larry Rivers, and Richard Lindner as strong influences, it wasn't until being introduced to the work of German artist Paul Wunderlich that Ott began to work on a body of figurative work painted directly from photographs. Throughout the 70s and 80s his work was shown in major exhibitions with a group of artists that were to become known as "Photorealists", while also being exhibited as a major figurative painter. (excerpt from Jerry Ott's official website)

According to the Wikipedia, "Jerry Ott is a true master airbrush artist and a leading painter in the 'Photo Realist' school of painting that emerged in the 1960s. In the early 1970s Jerry Ott received a great deal of attention in his career as one of two such artists – Hilo Chen being the other - dealing exclusively with the nude figure. If there ever were a subject ideally suited for rendering by an airbrush, it would be the human figure and the airbrush is the tool used to develop that "feel" of the human body--skin that you think you can touch." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Ott
