Follow standard prep procedures for composites. "Most" carbon fiber is finished in a 2 part resin or even a urethane clear. Depending on your application of color you need to abrade the surface with anything from a scotch pad to 800 grit paper. If you are applying silver remember that it shows the under surface meaning if you have big deep scratches in your surface from a scotch pad, those scratches will have a tendency to show in your silver. Other than that, just make sure you clean everything very well making sure there are no waxes, silicons or greases from the bicycle mechanicals.

Good luck

Josh
