How to make metal look like brushed Aluminum? 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I have a project that calls for me to take steel and paint it to look like brushed aluminum. I have several pieces that are in different shapes and have bends in them. Is there a way to make this look like it is made of aluminum? I remember reading something a while ago about using powdered aluminum and a resin. But I have no idea what the step where. Any ideas on how to do this? Or is there a better way? Thanks for your help.

never heard about the powdered aluminum w/resin deal but you can do an easy faux treatment with paint. prep all surfaces primer, seal, and _base_ coat in black. get a grey or red scotch brite scuff surface in one direction doing parallel strokes. and dust over with Alsa's ghost chrome or Hok kosmic krome. top coat with your favorite clear and your good to go.
